A real choice for greater control and greater flexibility.

OwnCare Nova Scotia is helping support the Province’s transformation of individualized funding for people with disabilities, seniors, and others who need support to live independently in their communities.

Through a combination of technology, navigation, and financial administration, OwnCare provides the backbone for individualized funding. We make it easier for participants, families, workers, service providers, and government to manage individualized funding with confidence.

Go your own way.

Individualized funding gives people greater choice and flexibility in arranging the supports that reflect their needs, goals, and circumstances.

Combining secure technology with a navigation service, OwnCare provides the administrative backbone that helps make this possible.

OwnCare NS is the backbone for individualized funding. It does not provide direct care services. We help people manage the funding, relationships, and administrative responsibilities connected to their care and support.

Grounded in belonging.

The Nova Scotia Human Rights Remedy is a five-year, legally binding agreement that guides government’s work to transform the disability support system in Nova Scotia.

It is called “the Remedy” because it is what government must do to remedy the discrimination against people with disabilities in Nova Scotia.

OwnCare Nova Scotia is one small part of the Remedy, seeking to create a Nova Scotia where everyone belongs.

We’re here to help.
